December 13, 2011
Catholics were today mourning the death of former superior and educator Sister Teressa Suraj, who died in Faisalabad on Sunday.
The Dominican nun of St Catherine of Siena congregation, 68, died of a heart attack in hospital after battling kidney failure and a spinal injury over several months.
Sr Suraj served both as principal and coordinator of several diocesan schools.
“A vacuum has been created as a result of the death of a friendly nun who supported the schooling of many poor Christian students. She used education to uplift the community and introduced new methods of teaching to teachers,” said fellow Dominican Sr Josephine at her funeral today, which was attended by over 100 mourners.
