Fortnight for Freedom 2016: Witnesses to Freedom

Fortnight for Freedom is an initiative of the Roman Catholic bishops of the United States. Involves events over fourteen days from June 21 to July 4 each year, call upon Catholics to participate in a pledge to religious liberty. It also prays for  inclusion of a "conscience clause" for religious institutions and religious faithful to practice according to the moral tenets of one's religious faith.

What is the Fortnight for Freedom?

Each year dioceses around the country arrange special events to highlight the importance of defending religious freedom. The Fortnight for Freedom is from June 21—the vigil of the Feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More—to July 4, Independence Day.
